About Us
Trained in journalism. Specializing in Fintech.
I’m Ashley Poynter, and Content Rewired is the practice I built around nearly two decades of writing, editing, and strategic work inside B2B fintech. I offer strategy, editorial leadership, and storytelling — delivered directly, without an agency layer between us.

The story
A reporter’s instincts & nearly two decades of fintech fluency.
One of my first fintech clients sold chargeback and dispute management, which allowed me to cut my teeth on an industry where the sale rests on clear articulation of both the problem and the solution. I had come out of journalism school into B2B marketing at a small agency, so the instinct I brought to it was to report rather than promote: ask the question you are embarrassed not to know the answer to, and do not write a sentence you cannot defend. That training tends to serve me well in complex, regulated markets, and it has sharpened the kind of creativity those industries leave room for.
By 2010 I was deep inside payments, interviewing operators and learning how a transaction actually moves from card swipe to settlement. By 2014 I was running multi-million-dollar content programs as a director of client strategy at agencies whose rosters included some of the largest banks in the country. In 2016, with that work behind me and a clear read on how underserved fintech content strategy was, I branched out.
The thesis was simple then and is simple now: fintech content is a different discipline. The buyers are sophisticated, so explaining a problem and its solution requires real technical fluency and an eye for compliance. Marketing strategies that work in horizontal SaaS don’t necessarily translate to payments, treasury, or infrastructure. I have watched good fintechs with solid products stall out because nobody could explain, in the buyer’s own terms, what the thing actually does.
The practice has evolved through three eras: as an agency, as a small editorial shop, and now as a founder-led practice with trusted specialist partners. Through the evolution, these have remained constant: strategic depth, editorial standards, and storytelling that earns trust with technical audiences.
Today, Content Rewired serves a small number of B2B fintech companies with senior editorial leadership, content strategy, fractional content marketing, and the kind of writing that compounds over years. Every engagement is shaped, owned, and delivered by me directly. Trusted partners scale in when execution demands it. You always know who is doing the work.
What I believe
Four non-negotiable principles.
These values shape every engagement.
Story is the first trust signal.
Features come and go. What sticks with B2B buyers is the story behind them, and my job is finding the one that earns trust, then telling it well.
Quality compounds.
A well-engineered piece of content can still drive pipeline three years after it launches. A piece engineered for cadence is forgotten right away. Quality is the only investment in this category that actually pays back.
Direct & accountable.
Every engagement is founder-led. I do the work you hired me for, from strategy through the final draft, with nothing handed down to an account team. Accountability lives with me.
AI accelerates, but humans must own judgment.
I use AI to synthesize research, comb transcripts, and draft outlines. The editorial judgment is mine: what is worth publishing, what the argument should be, what comes out. You make the final call, and I make sure it is an informed one.
How I work
A senior consultant model built around editorial judgment.
Content Rewired is structured deliberately to eliminate the biggest bottlenecks and headaches agency clients experience. I don’t assign account managers or a rotating cast of junior writers. I don’t market “proprietary frameworks” built solely to glamorize marketing best practices. It’s simply a founder-led practice with a small group of trusted specialist partners who scale in when the work calls for it.
I operate more like a senior consultant than a content agency. Engagements are scoped to the strategic questions worth answering instead of deliverable counts. The work happens in close conversation with founders, marketing leadership, and the buyers their teams are trying to reach.
When the engagement grows beyond what one person can reasonably own, trusted specialists join. This may include a senior copywriter for production scale, a content strategist for parallel workstreams, a designer for specific surfaces, or other senior-level consultants to advise. My client relationships are long-running because the standard of work stays constant for every project, regardless of who is doing the work.
